World Class Treatment: What Makes Dr. Yawn Different?
Robert Yawn has additional advanced training in Neurotology/Skull Base Surgery. This is a separate board certification through the American Board of Otolaryngology, giving him expertise in taking care of complex hearing and balance disorders.
This includes in endoscopic (incision-less) ear surgery to repair ear drums, advanced training in adult and pediatric cochlear implantation (a biomedical prosthesis that restores hearing in patients that no longer benefit from hearing aids), and also expertise in lateral skull base surgery.
As a part of a multidisciplinary UTHSC skull base team, Dr. Yawn can take out certain brain tumors accessed surgically through the ear to minimize complications from treatment.
A thought-leading ear specialist, Dr. Yawn has 50 publications in peer reviewed medical journals and medical textbooks and has presented at 40 presentations at local, national, and international otolaryngology research meetings.
But beyond the depth and breadth of his expertise, Dr. Yawn’s focus is always on you, the patient.
