Conditions include but are not limited to:
♦ Benign lesions: oral cavity (mouth), pharynx (throat), & larynx (voice box)
♦ Oral cavity cancer

♦ Salivary gland tumors papillomatosis
♦ Neck masses and enlarged lymph nodes
♦ Thyroid and parathyroid lesions
♦ Skin cancers of the head and neck
♦ Microvascular free flap reconstruction
World Class Treatment: What Makes Dr. Kahue Different?
Dr. Kahue describes:
“The ‘microvascular’ portion means that I am able to perform free flap reconstruction, which is a procedure used to transplant tissue from one’s own body (e.g. from the leg, thigh, forearm) to an area where a large tumor has been removed. This reconstruction helps a patient to heal and hopefully regain some of their pre-surgery function.
The ‘robotic’ portion means that I am also credentialed to use a surgical robot to remove tumors in the throat that are difficult to reach using open approaches. In many cases, patients who are eligible for robotic surgery and do not need radiation after surgery have better swallowing function than those that are not candidates for robotic surgery/need radiation.
I am proud to offer these services to patients that are in need of them.”
Another benefit of UTHSC ENT’s Dream Team: collaboration. Like her colleagues, Dr. Kahue is committed to using a team-based approach when treating her patients. After collaborating with her colleagues in medical oncology, radiation oncology, speech and swallow therapy, nutrition, all parties (including the patients) agree on a highly-personalized treatment plan.
